Pavlik Morozov (1918?-1932), supposedly killed by "kulak" relatives for denouncing his father to Stalin's secret police (OGPU-NKVD), was adopted as a patron saint by the "Young Pioneers," the Soviet equivalent to the "Boy Scouts." His life exemplified the duty of all good Soviet citizens to become informers, even at the expense of family ties.
This page of the Pavlik Morozov Fan Club is reserved for political figures and ordinary citizens to voice their respect for Pavlik and what he stands for. We welcome further submissions (for E-address check URL ../e-mail-address.html), especially if they are well-documented, and especially about current politicians and activists in supposedly democratic societies.
A teacher writes to Julius Streicher
Julius Streicher (1885-1946) published the rabidly antisemitic weekly Der Stürmer in Nazi Germany.
A proud teacher wrote to J. Streicher:
"One day [a nine-year-old star pupil] came to school and said,
"Herr Teacher, I was out walking with my mother yesterday. As we were passing a [Jewish] store, she suddenly remembered that she needed several spools of thread. I told my mother, 'I won't go in, you will have to do it yourself. And if you do go in I'll tell my teacher in the morning, and that may not be so very pleasant for you.'"

D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education)-- According to an article by James Brovard in the "Washington Post" (29 Jan 94), D.A.R.E. "education" materials from time to time incite US children to
inform on parents they suspect of drug possession.
