In reality, even the reactionary Bush Administration did not challenge the 15 Aug results. It is irresponsible counterrevolutionary speculation to suggest that Bush wished to avoid calling attention to comparably dubious electronic voting systems in the upcoming Nov 2004 US Presidential election, or that he wished to avoid a pre-election spike in oil prices.
